Cape Race is presently being converted to be the "go anywhere in comfort expedition yacht". As she was designed originally to fish in the toughest seas of the world, she has the integral strength to travel pole to pole. With a fuel range of over 7000 miles, Cape Race can cross the Atlantic twice without fueling.

The accommodations are spacious, with six large private cabins for guests, grand saloon, mess room as well as extensive crew quarters in the aft of the vessel. She has been redesigned with the idea of having many voluminous outside spaces- the side decks are reminiscent of an old cruise ship, there is a great aft dining deck and the fore deck is perfect for photo and film opportunities.

The concept of Cape Race is multi-faceted. She is suitable for port side activities, film/photo location, educational programs, oceanographic research and private charters. She also has the impressive capability of long range endeavors in any ocean in the world for extended periods.

In her new life, there will be an emphasis towards Eco awareness and CR should prove an example to many vessels. Auxiliary sails are being fitted to conserv fuel consumption and a fuel conversion to bio diesel should effectively eliminate pollution.
